The world is now in the post-pandemic period. Based on knowledge about past pandemics, the H1N1 (2009) virus is expected to continue to circulate as a seasonal virus for some years to come. While the level of concern is now greatly diminished, vigilance on the part of national health authorities remains important. Such vigilance is especially critical in the immediate post-pandemic period, when the behaviour of the H1N1 (2009) virus as a seasonal virus cannot be reliably predicted.

Monitoring patterns and levels of worldwide activity

As part of regular monitoring of H1N1 pandemic influenza, the WHO is in close dialogue with public health experts in countries worldwide, specifically to determine whether H1N1 activity has returned to levels and patterns normally seen for seasonal flu.

Repeat prescriptions are medicines which the doctor has authorized to be issued for a period of time without any further consultation. These are listed on the right hand side of the prescription tear off which should be included when applying for a repeat at the surgery. Requests handed in before 11:00 will be ready by 11:00 next working day, between 11:00 and 15:00 will be ready by 15:00 next working day, after 15:00 will be treated as if handed in next morning. If any amendment is required by either the doctor or patient, extra time maybe required. Items not on repeat cannot be issued in this way.

We regret that it is not possible to take repeat prescriptions over the phone.

If it is not convenient for you to collect your prescription please provide a S. A. E. and it will be posted back to you. Please make sure you allow sufficient time for postal delay and ensure your supply of medication for any holidays.

If you are sick or elderly it may be possible to arrange for delivery.
