Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are medicines which the doctor has authorized to be issued for a period of time without any further consultation.

These are listed on the right hand side of the prescription tear off which should be included when applying for a repeat at the surgery.

If any amendment is required by either the doctor or patient, extra time maybe required. Items not on repeat cannot be issued in this way.

Requests handed in before 11:00 will be ready by 11:00 next working day, between 11:00 and 15:00 will be ready by 15:00 next working day, after 15:00 will be treated as if handed in next morning

We regret that it is not possible to take repeat prescriptions over the phone nor do we accept requests from third parties such as pharmacists as we have found this leads to errors, duplications and items not needed being issued.

  • Special arrangements can be made for patients with particular difficulties which may include delivery via a local pharmacy but only following authorisation by a doctor at the surgery. 
  • If you have access to a computer or smart phone the easiest way of managing your repeat prescription is to register for on-line access and order electronically and have your script sent directly to your preferred pharmacist.  Please make sure you allow sufficient time for the pharmacist to process this and ensure your supply of medication for any holidays.
  • If it is not convenient for you to collect your prescription please provide a stamped addressed envelope and it can be posted back to you. Please make sure you allow sufficient time for postal delay and ensure your supply of medication for any holidays. 
  • If you are using the electronic request form, please remember only authorized items maybe requested in this way and any reminders/requests for review must still be observed.
